STEPHANIE STROUD DIRECTOR ACTOR TEACHER

Stephanie Stroud is a Salt Lake City-based theatre maker who thrives on the energy of a fresh collaboration. Her work lives in the space between the expected and the experimental—from the raw atmosphere of site-specific locations and immersive worlds to the evolution of new scripts and the reinvention of the classics. For Stephanie, every project is an opportunity to build something unexpected with new creative voices.

ABOUT STEPHANIE STROUD

A theater artist and educator, Stephanie Stroud is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Westminster University. Her creative journey is rooted in the collaborative spirit of the Chicago stage, where she was a founding member of Mortar Theater Company and contributed to the artistic fabric of the city through work with institutions like Something Marvelous, Saltbox Theatre Collective, Chicago Dramatists, Steppenwolf, Second City, and Victory Gardens.

Stephanie’s practice is an ongoing exploration of movement and form, shaped by intensive study with visionaries like SITI Company, Tectonic Theater Project, the Neo-Futurists, and Germany's Rimini Protokoll. Holding an MFA in Acting from Penn State University, she bridges professional artistry with academic mentorship as an associate member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, Intimacy Directors and Coordinators "Artist Forward", Actors' Equity Association, and American Theater Movement Educators.
