DEFYING GRAVITY

Directing

Westminster Theatre Arts Presents
DEFYING GRAVITY by Jane Anderson
Dates: February 24-26 and March 3-5 2022

A stylized, non-linear play exploring the 1986 Challenger space shuttle disaster, focusing not on the explosion itself but on the human experience, exploring themes of exploration, sacrifice, grief, and the quest for knowledge through fragmented scenes and diverse characters connected to the event, including the teacher-astronaut, ground crew, tourists, and an enigmatic painter inspired by Monet's pursuit of light, creating a collage of individual perspectives on tragedy and transcendence.
